Discussion

jen.a51: ASOIAF in S with an asterisk. Best first three books in fantasy. The asterisk is that Winds is never coming out.

samd1961: Earthsea is like 4 short books that say more than 14 Wheel of Time doorstoppers

random_cactus_4: Stormlight in A is the battle line of this whole board. The worldbuilding and the bridge runs are incredible but the prose is very plain.

SleepyGoose: Dune is sci-fi but fine

WeirdLlama: Inheritance Cycle is Star Wars with dragons, written by a teenager. Which it literally was.

cursed_goblin: Narnia in C feels low for a series that shaped every kid who read it. The Silver Chair is underrated.
